Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and Mother’s Day.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Mollie of Mollie In Seattle for almost 2 years now. We met how a lot of fashion bloggers meet nowadays, through twitter :) I have been to events with Mollie before, as well as #LuckyFABB this past March, but we have never done a major collaboration on our blogs together. I wanted to have us come together and style something we both love – and the thing we ultimately settled on was our Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC bag. If you’ve read my blog for any amount of time, you know how obsessed with my MAC bags I am (I currently have 3). I have been a long-time fan of Rebecca Minkoff, since I discovered her in 2007, so I thought this item was the perfect item to showcase.
The other week I went to Target and Fred Meyer (a local grocery store here in the Pacific Northwest that carries everything from food to books, bedding to camping gear…and obviously makeup) to pick up one thing and like always came out with about 10. I thought I would make a quick video to show you what I got! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products, or tell me in the comments below what you’ve bought lately!
Make sure to come back tomorrow for a fun collaboration I’m doing with Mollie!
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The weather here was absolutely phenomenal this weekend in Seattle with temperatures around 75-80 degrees (aka perfect). I wore this outfit to a BBQ over the weekend at a friend’s house where we had pulled pork and BBQ sandwiches, lots of whiskey, and tons of fun. We also went to Yogurtland (my new obsession) and had Red Velvet Cupcake Batter ice cream. If you haven’t tried this flavor, I HIGHLY recommend it. Heaven in a cup, it was.
Hello, happy Friday! I am back with a new video, a different kind this time (I feel like I say this every time I make a video). I was sent this Revlon Nearly Naked foundation from Klout, and was SO excited 1. because they usually send me weird stuff like tic tacs and a mcdonalds $5 gift certificate and 2. because I’d been wanting to try this foundation for a while, so I was stoked they actually sent me something I would use on a daily basis. I went out to Target and purchased the matching powder to see how they worked together. I had never used this foundation before being on camera, so this was my very first impression (hence the title) of the product. I was extremely impressed with the blendability of the foundation, the consistency of the powder, and the lasting power of both. Also, it did not look cakey or hardly noticeable on the skin (you’re probably thinking “Obviously, Alyson, they call is nearly naked for a reason”. Yes, but I definitely had my doubts). There are 6 shades of the powder, and 16 shades of the liquid foundation and these can be found in most drugstores for around $10 a piece, but I’m constantly seeing Revlon on 40% off or buy 1 get one 50% off, so you do not have to pay full price for these.
Have you tried this foundation and/or powder before? What were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments! I’d also love to know your favorite drugstore foundation and powder, I’d love to try out more combinations. Let me know what product review or video you’d like me to do next, I’d love suggestions! :) I hope you all have a wonderful weekend – it’s supposed to be around 80 here in Seattle WOO HOO! I will see you all Monday with a new outfit of the day :) xoxoxo

My three favorite colors are purple, mint, and of course coral. I have a purple and a mint handbag, so next in line was a coral one. I would like to introduce you to the newest member of my handbag collection, Miss Pashli (do you call your bags “she” or “he” or am I just crazy?).
Colored sunnies have been my newest obsession lately. I saw a few celebrities rockin’ the Ray Ban colored mirror aviators and wanted them immediately – until I saw the $160 price tag. Luckily, there are a variety of brands that have started to make colored frames and lenses on sunglasses. I have already purchased the Target purple aviators, and the Forever 21 pair ($5.80!! Such a steal) for the cheaper alternatives, and I’m about 98% sure I want to purchase the Carrera ones after seeing them on Sincerely Jules’ Instagram.
How do you feel about this trend? Do you prefer the aviator or wayfarer style? Do you like mirrored sunglasses, or just colored frames? Let me know in the comments below! Hope you all have a wonderful Friday and get to enjoy the weekend! Remember, if you’re in the Seattle area be sure to stop by my event at the 7 For All Mankind store in Bellevue Square from 10am – 1pm!
Spring has officially started in Seattle. Yesterday (and today and tomorrow for that matter) was 70 degrees and GORGEOUS here in the city. I met up with some friends after work and got a beer on an outdoor patio, and ate a pulled chicken BBQ sandwich outside at a picnic table. Yup, pretty much Wednesday perfection. It felt like a Friday, and I cannot wait for those days to come permanently this summer. There are few things in life that I enjoy more than spending time with good friends on an outdoor patio overlooking the water and the Seattle skyline. Ps I know, I know – my legs are glow in the dark. They see sun about 50 days a year…can’t help it.
Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend (I am aware I’m a day late). The manfriend and I had some friends staying with us, so we went to Pike Place Market, ate Paseo sandwiches (voted the #2 sandwich in the country), went to several parks and walked around, saw some improv, ate a Seattle dog (sausage or hot dog with carmelized onions and cream cheese…quite possibly the greatest creation ever. Don’t knock it til you try it), and had many laughs. Overall it was a great weekend. What did you do?
