I am SO excited for fall so I can wear these types of colors on my nails. Plumski is a gorgeous deep burgundy purple color that can look black from far away, but when the light hits it it’s gorgeous! Very easy to work with, not streaky (although it looks a bit in direct sunlight here, but normally not so). I love this color for the beginning of fall because it’s not full blown vampy, but still dark enough where you’re in transition. (That last sentence sounded really vampire-esque, I apologize haha). Anyways, I’m not sure if this color was limited edition or not, but definitely try and track this one down because it’s a real beauty for fall! See you tomorrow with a new outfit! xo
I’m not good at french manicures, so anything that allows for messiness/it to be imperfect, I’m in. I saw this photo on Instagram and instantly knew I wanted to create it. So much, that I actually used the exact colors that were used. Now to be fair, I already had these colors, I didn’t go purchase them (I’m not that psycho). Plus, they are both limited edition colors, so I couldn’t really go purchase them if I wanted to. ANYWAYS. The colors used were Essie’s “Topless and Barefoot” and OPI’s “Sparkle-icious”
I love the look of the pinky nude nail with the fun glitter tips. This actually lasted me almost a full week before chipping, which I was shocked. If you know me “in real life” you know most of my posts are about a week behind my actual life (blogger secret!) so I can tell you how the product wore, how it applied, how it removed, how many compliments I got on it…(kidding…kind of). So all in all, if you have something similar to this combo, definitely do it. It’s great how you can just apply the glitter among the tips and it looks great even if it’s not perfect. Actually I think it looks better that it’s not perfect, with the heavy glitter closer to the tips and the less closer to the cuticle, it looks like you actually dipped them in glitter. Love the ombre effect, obvi. Have a fab Monday, see you on Thursday with my beauty haul I made with miss Laura of Buy Now Blog Later! xoxo
I literally remember wearing this color all throughout high school. If there was a nail color to describe my high school experience, it would be this one. I believe this is one of three nail polish bottles I have ever finished in my lifetime – the other two being Essie’s “Cantaloupe” and Essie’s “Mademoiselle”. This is the perfect not quite coral, not quite red, not quite pink color. It is PERFECT! However, I do have to warn you, I believe this color has been discontinued from their permanent collection and was a tad difficult to track down. I have had my bottle for a while now, and everywhere online I looked it was sold out :(
If you haven’t tried this color out, I highly recommend that you try to find it! Have a fabulous Monday, see you Wednesday with a new outfit of the day post!
*excuse the messiness, my nails need a real manicure done by a professional BAD!
I absolutely LOVE this color and it is my favorite one from Essie’s new collection. Is it just me, or does Essie seem to have a collection come out every month?! I swear whenever I go into a store, new colors are out all the time. I don’t know how they do it! Regardless, this color is beautiful. When I first saw it I thought it would be too similar to Essie’s “Smooth Sailing” [<– click to see my review] but it’s definitely not as dark. Smooth sailing has noticeable glitter, while Bikini So Teeny is pretty much creme (at least on my nails). Also this is brighter and more of a neon periwinkle blue, while Smooth Sailing leans more purpley blue.
This color would be such an amazing toe color! Even though my nails are a little messy (I was in a hurry to get them done before I left for a family dinner!) this color was fairly simple to apply. No streakiness or patchiness. It just glided on without ay tugging or struggle. I would highly recommend picking up this color from Essie’s Summer 2012 collection! Hope you all had a great Monday, see you with a new polish (and hopefully a fresh mani!) next week! If you have any colors you would like to see on the blog, please let me know and I will do my best to go pick them up!
I saw this polish first on the gorgeous miss Laura of Buy Now Blog Later‘s blog and knew I had to have it. It is such a gorgeous lilac color, almost white, with a rainbow sparkle. Unfortunately the sparkle doesn’t hardly show up on the nails, but it still looks classic and clean on. I think this would be the perfect color to wear to a wedding, because it looks pretty on the nails but it also shows up more than just the traditional french manicure pink. Essie always lasts on me and I love their names! They always come out with so many collections per season, it’s hard to keep up, but I couldn’t say no to this one. What is your favorite nail color at the moment? Happy Monday, hope you all had a great Memorial Day Weekend! See you Wednesday!
There aren’t a lot of times when I don’t like my Manicure Monday posts, but today is one of them. Not for the polish color itself, but for the way that it turned out on camera. I just use a regular point-and-shoot and don’t know much about the manual settings on it, so unfortunately if the color does not come out true-to-life, I can’t do much to fix it. On camera, this color looks horrendous on the nails, like a bright carrot, but the bottle looks true to life. In real life, it was a lot less orange and definitely a more pastel-esque neon. Also, my manicure isn’t the best so that wasn’t helping haha. I hadn’t had my nails done (professionally) in at least a month, so my cuticles and nails were looking a little haggard. I found the photo of the mani from Flickr that shows it on a more polished hand in better light haha. Happy Monday!
Don’t roll your eyes, I know I have been wearing too much mint lately…and my blog post tomorrow features mint too. I promise I will take a break :) but yes, my nails are OPI’s “Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It” and Essie’s “Mint Candy Apple”. I love the combination of the pastel mint with the bright red-orange, and the randomness of the nails. Hope this inspires you to be a little different with your manicure, I cannot believe today is the last day of April! Happy Monday!
To me this is the perfect Easter egg color. Mint and pastel orange work as well, but I’m a purple girl at heart, and this lilac color is just absolutely gorgeous. It is so creamy and milky looking, I love it on my skin tone. I have started asking for my nails to be shaped more square lately, not necessarily because I like the square shape, but because my nails haven’t been breaking as much with them square vs oval shaped. Let me know what you think of square vs oval, and your favorite easter egg colored polish in the comments below :) here’s to a great week!
Essie “Bobbing for Baubles” and Deborah Lippmann’s “Happy Birthday”
Hi everyone! I apologize for the lack of posts, on Friday after work the boyfriend and I left for Mt. Hood for a President’s Day weekend getaway! I am now currently in Portland, we arrived here last night and are staying at his parent’s house before we head back to Seattle tonight! I did not get any service while I was up there (I was barely able to send text messages every once in a while, and I couldn’t call anyone, tweet, check email, or listen to my voicemail!) so now I am here doing a very quick post! I love this combo, and actually painted my nails this a while ago. I adore Happy Birthday–I think it is such a staple glitter. They are so big and chunky, and so much fun. However warning: this glitter is the biggest pain to take off! My coworker has to file it off it is that difficult, so be warned!
Hope you all had a fabulous 3 day weekend (or regular weekend if you do not have today off!) and look out for my next outfit post on Wednesday!
