Last week, I had the incredible honor of meeting Rebecca Minkoff. Click through to hear my entire story of my journey with her brand, and of course to see what I wore!
Funny story: if you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’ve loved Rebecca Minkoff since 2007. I first discovered her on PurseBlog where Lauren Conrad was wearing her Wine Nikki. I knew I had to have it, and soon began to fall in love with every one of Rebecca’s designs. In November of 2009, Rebecca Minkoff came to visit Nordstrom in downtown Seattle. I was away at college, but I was not going to let this moment slip away. I shipped home 3 of my bags to my mom, and she was kind enough to meet Rebecca and have her sign them for me (recognize the wine nikki bag?!).
I knew this time I was not going to pass that opportunity up. When I heard she was coming into town, I knew I had to go and meet her myself. She was even more beautiful and compassionate than I could have imagined. We talked about PurseBlog and how she got started, and thanked me for being a Minkette for so many years.
Now, onto the outfit! Gerard and I took these photos down at Greenlake on a particularly windy day. There is a hilarious outtake at the end (one of about 75).
This Kate Spade jacket is a new favorite of mine. I have lusted after it for years after seeing it on Wendy of Wendy’s Lookbook and finally was able to pick it up this season. I know I will be wearing it a TON this coming spring and summer. I love the little details on it, such as the bow in the back, and red hidden underneath the collar.
The thing I love most about warmer weather is wearing brighter colors and patterns. I love this outfit because combining leopard and stripes looks chic but feels so simple and right.
And now, I will leave you with my favorite outtake of the day. Have a wonderful week!
