H&M Blazer | Stylemint Tee | Amrita Singh Necklace via Rue La La | Mango Pants | Target Oxfords | Ann Taylor Bracelet | Sally Hansen “Pacific Blue” Nail Polish
I couldn’t decide what to wear last Saturday around town, so I went with something structured and men’s inspired (oxfords, skinny dress pants, blazer and army green) and then added back in the girly elements (giant bright statement necklace, pink-soled shoes, and some bling). It is always a fun contrast for me to make when dressing, playing up both the masculine and feminine fashion trends.
I love the way my hair looks straight, but it just takes too much time to get perfectly sleek and polished looking (read: tame the poof/mane). These unstructured waves are super easy, and take about 6 or so minutes. I just take my clampless curling iron, grab random pieces, and wrap them around the iron for about 7 seconds. Shake and set with a hairspray, and I’m done.
I do not believe I’ve ever worn these oxfords on the blog before, but I know I’ve shown them on my instagram. I love how they’re a classic and conservative brown color, but that pop of neon is where the fun comes in. Also where the fun comes in, is the price. I believe these babies were $19.99 at Target last summer. Amazeballs.
This jacket looks MUCH more blue on camera, by the way. It in real life is a rich, elegant, deep navy suede. It doesn’t compete as much with the necklace as it looks in photos. Speaking of blazers, I love blazers. I feel like I don’t wear them often on the blog, but I love how they can really transform an outfit. You can dress them up, or dress them down (believe me, I know this is not a brand new thought….just throwing it out there), and they’re a great piece to wear if you just feel sloppy that day. Want to be comfy in jeans and a tee? Throw on a statement necklace and a blazer and you’re good to go.
I hope you all enjoyed this blog post, and I’ll see you on Friday for a new (bright) outfit :) xoxo have a wonderful rest of the week!
