Crushing On Clothes…

Outfit: Neon Splattered Shorts

Shorts: Target; Tank Top: Forever 21; Purse: Rebecca Minkoff MAC; Sandals: Dolce Vita (similar, similar); Sunglasses: Miu Miu; Headband: France Luxe; Bracelets: Forever 21, Nordstrom, H&M

Another gorgeous day in Seattle took Christina and I to Gasworks Park for a photoshoot along the water! These shorts were an amazing find at Target because not only were they $17, but they are bright, fun, and comfy! I decided to keep the rest of the outfit neutral besides my arm candy as I did not want to be TOO bright. These sunglasses are my obsession (you’ve seen them here and here) and I love how they have a pattern of their own that is actually noticeable. Most tortoise sunglasses are dark brown with brown frames so they just look neutral, but these being white and black with blue frames really stand out. My RM MAC is one of my favorite bags of all time, and I cannot believe I’ve had it for almost 3 years now. CRAY CRAY. Hope you all have a FABULOUS Saturday, I will see you tomorrow to honor National Shoe Week, so check back! :)

Outfit: Typical Combo, Mint and Neon

Jeans: J Crew; Shirt: Nordstrom; Fedora: Forever 21; Sandals: Florence, IT; Necklace: Forever 21; Ring: House of Harlow; Sunglasses: Prada; Nails: butterLONDON “Slapper”

My name is Alyson and I am a mint-a-holic. I am mint obsessed this season (see outfits here and here, and nails here and here) and I cannot get enough of it! I seem to want to buy everything in this color! These jeans I found at J Crew and they are perfection. The color is absolutely amazing, they are beyond comfortable and so incredibly soft. The zipper detail is adorable, and the fit feels like they were made just for me. Alright, enough about the shoes. You have seen this necklace before here but I cannot get enough of the neon yellow, it looks great with everything (even though it doesn’t seem like it would). The fedora makes me feel like Jason Mraz in the best possible way, and this tank top is my new obsession for hot summer days. It is sheer and completely lightweight, but I love the girliness it brings to an otherwise plain outfit. Hope you enjoyed this post, next outfit is tomorrow! :) Happy Friday!

Outfit: Put a Bird On It

Romper: Target; Belt: H&M; Sandals: Dolce Vita (updated version); Sunglasses: House of Harlow “Chelsea”; Headband: Nordstrom; Watch: Michael Kors; Nails: butterLONDON “Slapper”

This weekend was absolutely GORGEOUS and Christina and I took advantage of that by taking quite a few different posts which you will see throughout the next two weeks :) This romper, I have to admit…I thought was a shirt when I first tried it on. Yes, I looked like the tool who got stuck in this romper thinking it was a shirt (thank god I was alone in the dressing room…). Embarrassing. But I’m glad I figured out this was a romper because 1. I LOVE rompers, and 2. it is so so so adorable/comfortable! The fact that is also has birds on it made me swoon a little bit, thus it was mine. The belt and shoes I’ve had for at least 2 summers now, and the sunglasses my lovely boyfriend bought me after I lost my original ones last summer (cue sad face :( !!!) What did you all do this weekend? I hope you had a fabulous Mother’s Day and was able to spend lots of time with loved ones. Happy Wednesday, see you all on Friday with a new outfit post! xo

Ps. just wanted to mention that I had 3 outfit videos, and iMovie damaged/lost them. Unhappy about it. Actually extremely upset about it. Hopefully a video or two will be up soon!! :(

Manicure Monday: butter LONDON “Slapper”

butterLONDON Slapper

I saw this nail polish first online and knew I had to have it. It looked like the brightest neon pool blue ever, and then when I saw it it was a teal. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. So I didn’t end up buying it – but then I kept thinking about it, so I had to go back and get it anyways because I didn’t have anything like it in my collection. Man am I glad I did, I am OBSESSED with this nail color right now. The photo above is pretty true to life, maybe just add a bit more green to it. It’s a bright yet saturated greeny teal color. Very unique get creamy and gorgeous. The perfect summer color – especially on the toes. Hope you all have a great Monday, and got to enjoy the amazing and HOT Seattle weather this weekend like I did!

Graffiti Cave

Dress: Rodarte for Target; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Sunglasses: Miu Miu; Flats: H&M; Bracelets: J Crew, Target, Forever 21

I know the dress/sunglasses/graffiti cave all sort of clash, but that makes it a little more visually interesting don’tcha think? :) I haven’t worn this dress since last summer and I don’t know why. It is one of the most comfortable dresses I own–just throw it on, and you instantly look put together. Just walk out the door and you’re good to go :) You first saw these sunglasses in my last post and I can’t get enough. Even if it’s not sunny outside, I want to wear them all the time. I think I feel more fashion-forward when they’re on my face…slash more incognito. Ain’t it the truth though–anytime you’re wearing sunglasses you feel like no one can see you. I ALWAYS feel that way, and then get super confused when someone sees me and yells my name. I’m like, dude can’t you see I’m wearing sunglasses?! HOW CAN YOU SEE ME?!

Crazy. Anyways. This tunnel is at Golden Gardens which is about 5 or so minutes from my mom’s house where I grew up. There were so many people down there staring at Christina and I (who took these photos for me, thank you very much!) but that seems to be a trend lately. We have been getting more and more bold and taking pictures in more public places. With that, comes the stares, whistles, questions, etc. So silly. I think this is a really cool background, and we even talked about how we cannot wait to come down here during the summertime and take photos in the ocean! YAY. Happy Saturday, see you for Manicure Monday!

Ps I would just like to mention that now that the Cambridge Satchel is popular, that I was actually AHEAD of the trend and bought mine straight up from England last summer. Booya.

White Peek-a-boo Dress!

Dress: Target; Flats: H&M; Sunglasses: Miu Miu; Bag: Balenciaga; Watch: Michael Kors

Do you notice something different? :) I have playing around with pixelmator for Mac and this is what I came up with! I figured having 9 photos in one post separately  was a little excessive, so why not try communing them? Let me know what you think in the comments, or tweet me or let me know on my Facebook page - do you like this grouping of photos together, or would you rather have each photo separate? I also just added a ton of photos of all my outfits in 2012 thus far on my Facebook page, check them out here!

I found this dress at Target over the weekend and knew I would make it mine. The white, the lace/crochet pattern, the peek-a-boo back…perfection for summer. I couldn’t resist wearing it a little early seeing how it was 73ish earlier this week when I took these. I LOVE this outfit with the sunglasses, it helps them to really pop off the outfit. I got them from the Saks Friends & Family sale. On sale + free shipping + no tax = Alyson couldn’t resist. They are different from anything that I have (aka I have brown and black plain with dark lenses…love the white tortoise with the blue lenses, so fresh!) so they were justifiable. I would highly recommend this dress if you can find it at a Target near you, grab it quick before they sell out!

Hope you’re having a fabulous Thursday and I will see you with another outfit post on Saturday!

Look For Less/Copycat: Kim Kardashian Pastel Brights/Accidental Twinsies

Blazer: H&M (similar) ; Jeans: J Crew Toothpick (similarShirt: Splendid via NordstromHeels: BCBGeneration via Nordstrom (similar, similar) ; Purse: Chanel Caviar Jumbo Flap in Beige Clair (the one piece that ISN’T for less)

I saw this photo of Kim Kardashian and I knew I HAD to copy the look. I have an obsession with colored pants (clearly, if you read my blog you know how bad it is: here, herehere, here, and here) so when I saw this I knew it was right up my alley. I love the bright pink with the neon coral–such a gorgeous combination. And somehow the blazer brings the look together to keep it polished rather than slapping random colors together; does that make ANY sense? I apologize for the lack of full sentences. It’s 11:30pm as I am writing this post and while that may not seem late for some of you, it is late for me. Anyways, saw the look – knew I had to replicate it. Boom. End of story.

The Chanel I’m not sure has ever been on the blog before – so say hello to my baby :) I think I have literally carried this purse less than 5 times in the 2 years that I have had it, as I am TERRIFIED of ruining it. My mom bought it for me as a graduation present from college and while it means the world to me, I’m sure she is not happy about buying it as I don’t hardly wear it. But that’s beside the point: it’s pretty :)

I did this photoshoot with Christina and she showed up wearing the exact same blazer…great minds think alike I guess! :) haha. See photos below, happy Tuesday! Another blog post will be up Thursday, see you then! xoxo

And now for the crazy pictures with Christina….

Manicure Monday: Deborah Lippmann’s “Ray of Light”

.

Deborah Lippmann Ray of Light

I have been looking for this nail polish since January when Deborah Lippmann released this photo. Of course I loved all of them, but the purple one jumped out at me. If you read my blog frequently, you know that I caved and bought this one as well from that collection/photo :)

This my quite possibly be my favorite nail polish that I own. I love darks, but the sparkles in this one are beyond gorgeous. Very sparkly and they remind me of fire as lame as that sounds – they almost flicker on my nails with the deep jelly blue as the background. They are a red/orange/copper color sparkle, but they are very chunky glitter sparkles, not all over. Anyways, beyond gorgeous. This polish applies super easily, and I would recommend grabbing it. I picked mine up at Nordstrom! Hope you all had a great Monday and I will see you tomorrow for an outfit post! xo

Outfit Post: NBC Fashion Star Dress & A Wedding!

Dress: NBC Fashion Star for H&M; Heels: BCBGeneration (via Nordstrom)

Last weekend I went to a wedding for a friend from Gene Juarez. We both started working there when we were 16, and now she is MARRIED! I cannot believe it, I am beyond proud of her! I was lucky enough to be invited to her wedding and be able to be a part of her special day. It was held at Eastlake Bar & Grill with tons of family and friends there celebrating and supporting her and her new husband! She looked absolutely breathtaking – but the best part, she looked HERSELF! Not super crazy made-up or had her hair vastly different. She looked like the best possible version of herself. Also, her and Jeramey (her hubby) wrote their own vows. I’m not going to lie, couples who write their own vows ALWAYS make me tear up. I think it’s the best way to do it, rather than repeating something someone else has wrote. The ceremony was short yet beautiful, and then the party began! Valerie, I’m so proud of you and beyond happy for you! Here is to a happy and love-filled marriage with Jeramey! :) xoxoxo

Valerie and her dad walking down the aisle:

The ceremony:

Val and I!

Dancin’ away :)

The couple’s first dance!

My girl Joey and I, thanks for being my date!

Mint Leaves

Dress: Willow and Clay; Sandals: Dolce Vita; Bag: Rebecca Minkoff; Bracelets: Art on a Wire cuff, Forever 21, Alexis Bittar, Rebecca Minkoff; Ring: Forever 21; Sunglasses: Prada

HAPPY MAY DAY! It is officially the first day of May, and I could not be more happy as that means it is even closer to summer! I first saw this dress at the Nordstrom Seattle Beauty Trend Show last weekend, and I knew I had to have it. I didn’t even pay attention to the beauty item that was on the runway, I literally couldn’t take my eyes off the dress haha. I know the shoes are a little matchy-matchy, but I couldn’t resist :) the neon was just too fun and I had to play it up in the dress.

My amazing boyfriend took these photos on the University of Washington’s campus, we were in this weird forest-arch/tunnel. I loved how windy it was because it really caught the high-low hemline of my dress, which always looks cool when the wind blows through it. Hope you all have a fabulous May Day and an even better Tuesday! xoxo

I'm a 20-something fashion blogger who loves to put together outfits. Living in Seattle, I have a fun style of classic prep meets masculine twist. I have a hardcore handbag and nail polish addiction, and I have a big heart. My style icons are Nicole Richie and Lauren Conrad, and I’d rather Balayage than Foil my hair (mainly because Balayage is so much more fun to say). Look around, and enjoy!
