Don’t get me wrong, I’m usually not a DIY girl, but with the help of my mom I decided to be a little bit adventurous.
Gerard’s parents gave us our kitchen table and chairs when we first moved into our apartment together 2 years ago. His mom jokingly mentioned that the chairs were looking a bit beat up, and needed some reupholstering and painting done to them to bring them back to life. I have never upholstered anything in my life, and the most DIY thing I do is paint cups with chalkboard paint. But finally, in celebration of #CrushingOn26, I decided to try it out. My mom came over and helped me out (read: pretty much did the entire thing), so I’ll take you through step by step what it takes to reupholster a chair. It’s relatively simple to do, it just takes a bit of time. This cushion took us a little over an hour, but now that we have the hang of it I bet it would take us shorter on the other ones.
